Day 6 - Salad

*I only had carrots available for Tof when I wrote this so I don't have any images right now, I will add some soon though*

Everyone loves a nice cooked dinner at Christmas, but unfortunately guinea pigs can't eat meat or cooked foods, so here is what I do as a nice little treat for her.

You will only need fruit and vegetables but here is what I use. Feel free to use any other fruits/veggies that you know your guinea(s) like though (that are on the safe list - coming soon)

  • Kale / Spinach
  • Carrot
  • Brocolli
  • Apple
This is a very easy thing to make and is perfect for guineas as it perfectly safe for them and it is easily adjusted for what your guinea pigs like, and can also be altered in size for the amount of guineas you have.

Very simply just grab a hand full of kale or spinach and put it in the bottom of a bowl or on a plate. Add a florets of brocolli and chop up a carrot into about quartets to add to the top. Because apple goes brown quickly, add it to the top of the salad so that it gets eaten first. If you are going to add apple, you don't need to peel it but don't give them too much because it is quite acidic.

Obviously these amounts can be altered for the amounts of guineas that you have. This could also be a great feast for rabbits if you use fruit and veggies safe for them.

Thanks for reading and Happy Piggymas!
