Day 7 - Popcorn

Even though it is the name for that cute little bouncy thing that guinea pigs do, this time I am talking about actual popcorn. It is perfectly safe for guinea pigs to eat this and most like it.

Unfortunately, Tof is not one of the guineas who likes popcorn, so for this post I am not actually going to make popcorn because it would just go to waste, but here are some tips of how you could do it!

Ok, to start off with you will need to buy some popcorn kernels.
Do not buy ready made popcorn, microwave popcorn in bags, you need to make it yourself because they may have added sugar or syrups!

Just put some of the kernels into a pan and pop them. It's hard to explain but I'm sure it's quite easy to find a recipe if you don't know how to make it :)
I wouldn't recommend that you use anything on it, just use the kernels - but if you want to then you could use a tiny bit of sunflower oil as a tiny bit is ok for guineas!

Once it's cooked, take it out of the pan and add it to a bowl. Do not add any sugar or anything to it! You then need to make sure that there are no hard kernels left or shells that you're guinea could choke on!

You can only feed each piggy one or two pieces a day as it can bloat them but to make things more festive then you could also thread them onto some string like ,some people do around christmas, and dangle it from the cage to make it into a game!

Thanks for reading and Happy Piggymas!
